5/10/07:  This is a new section for French posters.  I've gathered enough, I think, to warrant such a thing. Originally, when I started collecting, I would never have imagined that I would collect them.  I was stuck on US onesheets, and double-sided ones at that.  I have two lightboxes, and that's all I wanted to do was display posters in them!  Of course, it was only a matter of time that a poster would come along that I would want in French, and that was Marie Antoinette. I'm a fan of both Sophia Coppola and Kirstin Dunst, so it was a natural addition to the collection.  Since then, I've discovered that folded is not so bad, because the trade off is the sheer size of them.  And, recently, I've discovered that I can get rolled French bus shelters that are double sided and which are relatively speaking inexpensive.  Now, I'll be building a lightbox for them which, hopefully, will also handle US bus shelters and which will allow me to also display the large French panels.

Adolphe

5/1/07. Large French. I purchased this because of the image. I'm growing to like international paper more and more, and I'm going to be building a frame to handle this size poster in my new home (closing on May 15!). F/SS.

L'Alliance

8/4/07. Large French. I have not seen the movie, but I found the art on this old Anna Karina film irresistible. F/SS.

Angel-A

8/8/07. French Bus Shelter. I've heard that this may be Besson's worst movie ever. But, the poster's really cool. This is my preferred version. R/DS.

Angel-A

8/9/07. Large French. A nice image, but not as good as the other version I have in a French Bus Shelter. R/SS.

Au Petit Marguery

5/1/07. Large French. I was told by a fellow collector and friend, who himself is French, that the French do not refer to these as French grandes. I have not seen this film, but I enjoy the graphic. It reminds me of Matise or Van Gogh, and I would like to frame this for my children's room. F/SS.

Betty Blue (37.2 Le Matin)

5/7/07. Large French. I really like the art on this one. F/SS.

8/4/07. Updated pic.

Blood Diamond

5/31/07. French Bus Shelter. This is a set of doublesided bus shelter posters for Blood Diamond. They are rolled and not easy to handle. Once I devise a foulproof way to handle them without damaging them, I will get some actual photos. In the meantime, can't wait to build the new lightbox for them. R/DS.

8/6/07. Finally figured out a way to shoot them. Updated pic.

Brotherhood of the Wolf

5/31/07. French Bus Shelter. A set of six character posters, doublesided bus shelters, for this move. If you haven't seen it, it's worth the time. R/DS.

Casino Royale

5/7/07. Set of 2 French bus shelters. R/DS.

8/10/07. Updated pic. This is the same image as I have on the doublesided international onesheets in my collection. However, to see this six feet tall is a whole 'nuther ball game! I would have put this up on the homepage, but I already posted the International onesheets when I got them, so I didn't want to be boring. R/DS.

Casino Royale

8/10/07. French Bus Shelter. Updated pic. Sweet! R/DS.

Chinatown

4/5/07. Large French. Reissue. Everyone knows this is a great image. I can't wait to get this on display. F/SS.

8/3/07. Updated pic. Very nice in person.

The Clan of the Cave Bear

8/3/07. French large. This image is so dramatically different from the US paper, it's hard to believe they're the same movie. F/SS.

Dancer in the Dark

7/9/08. Small French. My favorite of the posters for this movie is the onesheet in the US section that has the letters in the form of an eye exam poster. I added this one because it was inexpensive and otherwise because I really like the movie. R/SS.

The Da Vinci Code

5/7/07. Set of 5 French bus shelters. R/DS.8

8/10/07. Updated pic. Another great set of bus shelter posters.

5/7/07. Large French. This poster is awesome in person. F/SS.

The Fountain

8/3/07. Large French. Definitely the second favorite, and perhaps the favorite movie of all time for me. It is a powerful love story, and an epoch statement about God, life and love. Just fantastic. F/SS.

Immortel

8/9/07. French Bus Shelter. This is a neat poster for an even neater movie. The lead actress cries blue tears, and there's a horny anubis on the loose! The DVD liner notes reveal a storyline that you would think is the exact same as Stargate. However, you couldn't have two more diffent movies. R/SS.

Kill Bill Vol.1

5/7/07. French Pantalon. F/SS.

Lord of the Rings ROTK

1/15/07. Arwen, French Bus Shelter 47 1/8" x 68 3/4" R/DS.

2/9/07. I received the tube a few days ago. It was 5 feet long! Just today, what with work and all, I was able to open the tube. I cannot tell you how spectacular these posters are. As soon as I pulled them out and unrolled them, I knew that I was going to go ahead and build a lightbox for them (yes, it bears repeating, they are unfolded and double sided). They are simply overwhelming in person. I guess the only thing that could come close are the US bus shelter posters. But these are so much sweeter because they're French! I'm very pleased.

Lord of the Rings ROTK

1/15/07. Frodo, French Bus Shelter 47 3/16" x 68 7/8" R/DS.

2/10/07: The width dimension on each of them differs slightly. On some, it appears the printer did not trim them precisely to the picture, so there is a white strip almost like it was a printers proof. Others are cut perfectly. That's why I decided to write down the exact dimensions, in the event that I build a French grande sized lightbox.

Lord of the Rings ROTK

1/15/07. Gimli, French Bus Shelter 46 5/8" x 68 3/4" R/DS.

Lord of the Rings ROTK

8/2/07. Aragorn, French Bus Shelter. Somehow, these next 7 were deleted from the site. They all form one set of 10 that I purchased at the same time. R/DS.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

8/4/07. Large French. This is another that I've had for awhile, but it took awhile to photograph. I love this movie, and I'm always happy to add new posters to the collection which are based on it. F/SS.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

5/31/07. Large French. I dont' think I can adequately convey my thrill at getting this set. I love the NBC art. F/SS.

8/4/07. Updated pic.

The Professional (Leon)

8/10/07. Large French. I've had this for about three months. I bought it to replace the folded version I have. I have to say that even though it's harder to handle, it looks much better without the fold lines. R/SS.

The Professional (Leon)

Matrix Reloaded

8/10/07. French Bus Shelter. I bought this set of three about three months ago. They use international art which I favor, and which I have in some of my Japanese paper. It's nice to have all three side by side! R/DS.

Matrix Reloaded

8/10/07. French Bus Shelter. R/DS.

Matrix Reloaded

8/10/07. French Bus Shelter. My favorite of the three. R/DS.

The Secretary

8/4/07. Large French. Life-size, if you know what I mean, and it was a good movie too. F/SS.

Stargate

6/27/07. Large French. I had this poster up for a long time in the wanted section, and my very good French supplier was able to locate it after a long search. It is, by far, the best paper for this movie that I've seen so far. Me and my children are huge fans of the movie and the series, and I can't wait for them to see this one. F/SS.

8/4/07. Updated pic.

Stealing Beauty

5/31/07. Large French. I'm a big fan of Liv Tyler, but I haven't seen this movie. I have the DVD and will watch it soon. Right now, the media room is occupied with sleeping mommy and baby. F/SS.

Superman Returns

5/7/07. Set of 3 French bus shelters. R/DS.

8/10/07. Updated pic. This set is really awesome in person. You just can't appreciate the large format for these bus shelters until you see them hanging six feet tall! R/DS.

Superman Returns

8/10/07. French Bus Shelter. My favorite of the three. Updated pic. R/DS.

The Trout

7/9/08. Small French. I simply could not resist this poster. The color is great. The image is, to say the least, interesting. R/SS.
