I've finally moved all of this to an updates archive.

10/16/06 Update:  The US section reached an unwieldy point that made it difficult to update.  So, I broke it into sections as you'll see if you follow that link.  I made some interesting new additions including posters for Perfume and The Good German which are very nicely executed.  I'm looking forward to receiving the.  I also added the Zathura lenticular. Given how pleased I have been with the lenticulars for Narnia, Spiderman 3 and Monster House, I guess I'm making a move to start collecting them to some extent.  However, some of them are really expensive like Spidey 3 and NBC.  At least I'll be able to add the Species theatrical lenticular for not too much money ;-)  I also added a couple of surprisingly nice advertising posters for an upcoming Halloween promotion.  Check them out in the advertising section under 8 Films.

1/26/07 Update:  I've been updating the site with new pics and amending old descriptions for some time now.  It's starting to shape up.  I recently purchased a new digital 10.1 megapixel SLR, so I'm finally in the position to start shooting my own pics of the posters that don't have good stock photos I can pull from impawards.com or the like.  Those are usually the foreign posters such as Russian, Polish and Japanese.  I'm also working to make consistent the postings and the image sizes both in the thumbnail form and the full form.  This will all take some time.  I'm also adding a new section for Lightbox Posters.  These are pictures and blogs about the posters that I put up in the two lightboxes I have in my home theater.  I wish I could have done this sooner, but the shots required the camera I only now have.  Obviously, shooting with a cheap camera and a flash misses the point.  I'm hopeful that you'll appreciate these beginning pics of the project.  I wish I had pics of the posters I've displayed in the past.  Perhaps I'll post them again just to do so.

1/30/07 Update:  I am continuing to add to and update the listings on the site.  I've had a few people ask me for a copy of the old Movie Poster Authentication site, and I've added an encrypted zip archive of the site for download by those I trust to use the site only for personal use, and who have committed to me in writing (by email or pm) that they will honor the personal use commitment.  I found the MPA site so useful that I wanted to make sure I always had access to it, so I used a website downloader to pull a copy of the entire site.  While I appreciate my own right to do so because the site was, after all, posted to a public domain, I respect the limits of the Fair Use Doctrine that I may only use the copy I have for personal use.  I share it with others on this site only because they could have downloaded it equally well.  I've encrypted the file with the highest level of winzip encryption to ensure that no one other than those who have committed to the personal-use-only doctrine will have access to the files.  That said, if you want me to remove this link, Dan, you need only to email me and it will be removed!

2/5/07 Update:  I continue to overhaul the site. I've combined the Polish and Russian sections into one area.  I've decided to allow duplicates in some areas, so you'll see Japanese Kill Bill posters in both the Kill Bill and Japanese sections.  I wanted to be able to see all posters of one kind in the particular area I was browsing.  I'll make this change to the entire site over time.  I'm moving older update notes to the bottom of this page.  Soon, I'll segregate them to an archive page.

2/12/07 Update:  Today, Dan emailed me and asked that the link be removed, and I have done so.

2/16/07 Update:  I started printing out a PDF file for e**y and other listings from which I've bought some posters.  I kept the information like this to track things like price and purchase date.  I primarily did so to document the source of the posters I've purchased.  By no means, obviously, is this a complete listing of the source of my posters.  I do not compile this kind of information from individual dealers I have direct contact with.  This is simply the e**y listing I've bought from, or the website description for the poster if I've bought it from a dealer's site.  Over time, I will link these to the online picture and blog I have for the poster, and I will correspondingly link from the poster/blog to the source listing.  As always, it's a work in progress.  Here's the link for the new area.

2/28/07 Update:  I added some new acquisitions for the Departed and an advertising poster put out by AMC for Monstermania.  I love adding new ad posters.  They are sooo damned scarce, because no one other than me seems to care for them (other than the ratings posters and those for Dolby, THX, etc.).  It makes them a lot of fun to collect.  Today, my new copy of Dreamweaver 8 came in the mail.  I want to begin switching to it from Frontpage for the web design.  I should have started there earlier.  But, it seems at least for the moment that Frontpage has a stronger ability to put together image galleries like those you see on this site.  It also seems that Frontpage allows for easier additions to and subtractions from an existing gallery.  Thierry has a nice site, though, and he uses Dreamweaver.  We'll see -- as Jack the Pumpkin King would appreciate, it's something new!

3/4/07 Update:  I've added pics of three posters displayed in my lightboxes.  I've also added a new link for "Lightbox Posters" below.  I've started adding the designation L or R to the end of the descriptions there, to indicate whether the poster was in the left or right box.  This may seem a little quirkish, but I'd like to recall these things in the future if I need to.  Who knows why I would.  Also, I decided that I will not keep that page alphabetical.  Rather, the page will be ordered historically, with the first entry at the top of the page.  Thus, as you scroll down, you'll get to the posters that are currently hanging in the lightboxes.  I wish there was a way to really capture what it's like to see them in person, lit up.  The pictures are ok, and they're certainly better than what I could do with the old Fuji camera.  However, I have a tough time capturing the luminosity of the images.

3/10/07 Update:  Today is my daughter's birthday.  Actually, it's 1:38 a.m. EST, and almost time for the world to explode when they the clocks move forward sooner than expected!  Seriously, the only thing I've changed today is to add two new lightbox entries based on my daughter's selections for her day.  I'm working to shoot some new pics of some Japanese material that's already listed, and I have an update of about 15 posters coming soon.  Until then, happy weekend!

3/12/07 Update:  I've finally added an updates archive so that I could move all the old updates to one area for historical reference.  You can find the new page by clicking here.  Over the past few days I've been shooting a large number of pics to replace the poor pics I have of many of my Japanese, Russian and Polish posters, as well as some more uncommon  US and international versions.  I procrastinated because of the size of the project.  Not that I have them done (probably about 50 or 60 posters overall) I'm formatting them for the site.  That will take another week or so.  In the meantime, I've added two new posters to the lightboxes -- Minority Report and Run Lola Run.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.  You can find the new pics in the Lightbox Posters area of the site.  Have a good week!

3/17/07 Update:  It's almost midnight, and I just don't have the energy to post the big update.  I've shot a large number of posters, and it's going to take several hours to update everything.  So, in the meantime, I've just added three new additions to the Lightbox section.  If you haven't seen the poster for Girl with the Pearl Earring, you must.  It's fabulous on display.  Also pictured is a somewhat less common version of Aladdin and a copy of Lord of War which was gifted to me by a collecting friend.  I'll try to get the big update done by Monday evening.

3/18/07 Update:  Updated the Descriptions section, which, I have said, is a  compilation of the original listings of some of the posters I've bought.  I've kept these to help establish provenance of some of these, especially the Russian and Polish, and those which originated from the old MPA site and its keeper, Dan R.  Added a whole bunch of new posters, and changed the pics on a lot of the Japanese, Russian and Polish posters.  I've started adding inserts into my collection, because some nice ones have been turning up from MPA.  Pics added or updated in this posting:  Lord of War, Aladdin, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Chinatown Insert,, Asura-jo, Be Forever, Blade Runner, Cat Returns, Raiders Polish, Return of the Jedi Polish, Son of Godzilla Polish, Notorious Bettie Page, Alien including original, foil limited and Turkish, Run Lola Run, Titanic, Kill Bill Desert, Sayuri, Spirited Away, Dark Crystal, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Ultraviolet Foil, AMC advertising poster, Saw III Blood, In the Line of Fire.

3/19/07 Update.  I've been busy today!  Three new ones added to the Japanese section for The Ring 2, Shrek and War of the Worlds.  Updated pics (higher resolution and better quality) of the following in the Japanese section:  2046, A Tale of Two Sisters, Aliens, Apocalypse Now, Azume 2, Big Fish, Chronicles of Narnia, Erotic Liaisons, Innocence, Kill Bill, Leon, Lost in Translation, Matrix Reloaded, Lord of the Rings, Million Dollar Baby, My Neighbor Totoro, Rahxephon, Sky High, Silence of the Lambs, The Brown Bunny, and The Last Starfighter.  Finally, I've decided to no longer include "the" when alphabetizing the lists.  Suffice to say it just got ridiculous trying to remember if a movie include "the" in the title so I could find it.

Update Part B.  Still posting pictures, but I'm done for the night. Added in the Polish/Russian section are better pics of:  Alien, Aliens, Amadeus, Angel Heart, Bialy Smok, The Big Blue, Gremlins, Hellraiser, Itineraire, La Bella del Alhambra, Once Upon a Time in America, Prizzi's Honor, and Working Girl.  Also added in the US section are Aladdin, Lord of War, Evita, an Italian Insert for The Good The Bad and the Ugly (that's another story -- I'm going to start merging the US and International sections from this point forward - it's just not a useful way to segregate the posters), and a new advertising poster for Halloween Horror Nights V.

3/20/07 Update.  Not a huge one today, though not insubstantial!  First, I acknowledge that the Kill Bill area is a disaster.  It's just not in sync with the additions to the Japanese section. Make sure that when you're looking at the Kill Bill section that you reference the Japanese area for the time being as well.  The pics are often better there.  That said, I've added a better pic of Thai version of KB1 for O-Ren.  Also, I've added an absolutely fabulous addition consisting of the doublesided Australian advance for KB1.  It does not get any rarer than that as far as Kill Bill goes and as far as I know to date.  If I'm wrong, let me know and send me a pic!

3/21/07 Update.  Well, it was bound to happen.  I've added an Authentication section to the site.  It's way rudimentary right now, but it will grow over time.  I certainly have some tough shoes to fill and I welcome any input from my fellow collectors on this endeavor.  Also added new pics for existing posters in the collection, including:  La Femme Nikita, Matrix Revolutions, Monster House (the lenticular), Run Lola Run (including two new versions!), Species (the real theatrical lenticular), Star Wars ANH Polish C3PO (!!!!!!!), Stich (lenticular), the Departed (new pic of the Jack international), the Insider (now listed under "i" for "insider" rather than "t" for "the"), and the Little Mermaid (including a lightbox shot).

3/24/07 Update:  I'm finally getting to the point that I can start adding posters to the site as I add them to my collection!  It's taken a lot of work to get here, and I'm still not done.  My flat file storage is in my office, so today I have to take a bunch of paper to the office.  And, in my ongoing effort to keep track of it all, I have to put them into the files one by one, and photograph each one (roughly) as they go in.  That way I ultimately (and theoretically!) should know where each poster is.

In this update, I'm added some new posters:  On the US Side, the 300 wilding set is listed.  From Japan, I purchased a really nice group of posters from someone who I've never bought from before.  I hope the show up looking as nice as they did in the auction.  The are:  Blue Steel, Romeo is Bleeding, Run Lola Run, The Quick and the Dead, Nikita, From Dusk Till Dawn and Jackie Brown.

3/24/07 Update Part B:  Also added:  Two versions of the Abyss, Big Trouble in Little China, three really great advertising posters for Dolby Digital and DTS, a Lord of the Rings printer's proof, the Matrix video release, Must Love Dogs, and a double sided version of the original Saw poster.

April 1 Update:  This is NOT an April Fool's Day joke.  I've finally gotten good pics of my absolutely fantastic set of four B1's for Kill Bill Vol.2.  My favorite of the lot is this one:

As I said, this is one of four, and it just happens to be my favorite one.  Either click on the picture above or the Kill Bill link below to see the whole set, as well as the other posters in my Kill  Bill collection.

Next on the updates are some new pics in the Lightbox section.  I found a few older pics of some posters that were displayed some time ago.  I've added those first to the beginning of the page.  They are:  Austin Powers (fembots version), Batman Begins (rare international version), Hocus Pocus and Godzilla 2000.  The ones currently displayed are the lenticular for Lilo and Stitch and a great, very colorful version of Aladdin.

In the area of new purchases, there's Ally McBeal in the Television section (I've actually updated that section a bit -- it has been woefully neglected), one for the Babylon 5 section (updated the pic for the fanclub poster), Breakfast on Pluto (I've purchased the quad, and now I want the other paper as referenced in the updated wanted section), the lenticulars for Lilo & Stitch, Men in Black (both the US and International) and a dupe of Species, and in the IMAX section, Night at the Museum, Spiderman 3, Superman Returns, Young Black Stallion and Roving Mars.  I have a LOT more to post, but it's almost midnight and I have to work tomorrow.  Tomorrow's Passover, so happy Passover to all of you who celebrate that holiday.  I'll probably get to another update on Tuesday night or so.

4/2/07 Update:  The current update continues.  I'm stealing a few minutes before I have to leave for Passover dinner.  Some new additions for Kill Bill consisting of two quads (added to both the Kill Bill and British Quads sections).  A wonderful quad for The Fifth  Element has been added to the appropriate section (I've also tweaked that section a bit to make it more in line with the other pages on the site).  OK, how about this one:

That's right.  It's that crazy Polish poster for Star Wars ANH.  This poster is soooo off the chain that I just can't get enough of it. I've waited a long time for a nice copy to come along, and this one is it.  There's a full size picture in the Star Wars section.  Just click the image or the link for that section below.

Onward with the update:  I've added the poster for Molly Shannon's upcoming Year of the Dog.  It seems I like artsy posters like this.  And, how about Uncle Johnny!  Well, that's what my ex-wife calls Johnny Depp on the theory that if she ever brought him home for dinner, she would just refer to him as Uncle Johnny.  I have to say, the new advance for Pirates 3 is pretty cool in person.  If that wasn't enough, I've added the Silver Surfer advance for Fantastic 4 -- quite cool!  I've added two mylars to the Matrix section, and a new Aladdin poster in the US section.  There's what I think is a Thai Resident Evil Apocalypse insert in the International section.  I've added mini's for Die Hard with a Vengeance and Independence Day in the US section.  There's a set of Harry Potter miniposters in the International section, and a fun Star Wars Who's Your Daddy in the SW section.

In the Lightbox section, I've posted several more old pics of Underworld and X-men The Last Stand.

Finally, I have updated the pics for the following titles:  the holofoils and nonholofoils for several of the Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions posters; a Babylon 5 fanclub poster; Marie Antoinette, Chinatown and Walk the Line in the International section; two DTS posters and two Seasons Greetings posters in the Advertising section; two Kill Bill posters in that section (for the US bride and sword versions);  a set of real and reproduction pics of the Lucky Strikes Pulp Fiction.

April 4, 2007 Update:  I'm continuing the big update by posting some more updated pics.  In the US section, you'll find an update for Cry Baby, my Species posters including the lenticular, Spiderman II, and Zathura.  I've found another old lightbox pic for a THX poster, and it's up in that section.  I've added some better pics of a few of my THX posters in the advertising section (Let's See it in THX and Warning).

April 5, 2007 Update:  Today I've got  some new material to add.  Several tubes came in this week with some really nice stuff that I've already posted.  I now have good pics of that material.  But first, to the lightboxes!  I've gone from Disney to Tarrantino this week, so check out Grindhouse and my ever-so-rare Aussie onesheet for Kill Bill Vol. 1 in the lightboxes.

Now, how about a few highlights of what's described in the rest of the update -- an insert for Chinatown and the Australian, doublesided onesheet for Kill Bill Vol.1:

There are a few new posters.  The first is a reissue of the French grande for Chinatown.  I really enjoy the art on that poster, and now that I've committed to building a French grande-sized lightbox when I get into my new house, I'm more apt to purchase some of these posters.  I have a wonderful set of Lord of the Rings posters in this size, all rolled and double sided.  That's what prompted me to do a grande-sized lightbox to begin with.  I have coming a set of 3 grandes for Matrix Reloaded, again, rolled and double sided.  Even though the  single sided material like this Chinatown will not display will in a lightbox, I just don't have to turn it on when it's displayed!  So, check it out along with the updated pic for the authentic copy of the insert for Chinatown.  The second new one is a German version of Stargate.

In the US sections, you fill find updated pics for each version of the Abyss, Big Trouble in Little China, and my favorite version of Aladdin (the most colorful of the ones I have), The Clan of the Cave Bear (I recently purchased a better copy from Dan R), Must Love Dogs, and the original Saw.  In the advertising section, I've updated the pics for two Dolby Digital posters (jungle and film strip versions), and one of the DTS posters (film strip version).  In the Kill Bill section, I've posted an updated pic for that fabulous Aussie onesheet for Kill Bill Vol.1.  In the Lord of the Rings section, I've added a new pic for the printer's proof of the New Line version of ROTK.  The completist in me has added a new pic for the video release poster of The Matrix.

Finally, there are a number of updated pics in the Japanese section:  Blue Steel, From Dusk Til Dawn, Jackie Brown, Nikita, The Quick and the Dead, Romeo is Bleeding, and Run Lola Run.  Oh, and two new ones added there for Dobermann and Sea of Love.  That's it (whew!).  I'm going to watch some Alias now.  (Oh yeah, I've added a poster for that too in the TV section - really, I would have forgotten if not for what I was writing!).

4/16/07 Update:  Have I got a whole bunch of new stuff to post!  Let's start first with this:  there's a new section listed below for James Bond.  I've acquired a nice batch of paper from Heritage which included, among others, a sweet set of character posters for Die Another Day.  Among them are:

Now, to those who collect older paper (see that part of the debate between the camps at MPF and NSFGE), this may not seem like a huge thing, but I tend to like newer paper so this really gets me going.  There are three other characters including Bond (of course), Graves and Zao -- however, none of them are as attractive as these two.  So, check out the bond section that includes paper from Die Another Day, Goldeneye, The Living Daylights, The Spy Who Loved Me, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough.

This update's going to take some time, so for now I'm going to leave you with these great images as a small taste of what's to come.  These are the B2's for Big Fish and Perfume.  I've had the Big Fish B2 for some time, and this is another copy that I acquired because I love this poster, and the movie, so much.  The B2 for Perfume is just wonderful.  It's printed on that substantial linen-type stock with a matte finish.  I can't wait until I finally get a copy in the larger B1.

Lastly for tonight is the  pair of advances I recently managed to track down for Children of Men.  If you haven't seen the movie and if you like apocalyptic fare, this one ranks right up there.  I can only say this without giving something away in a spoiler, there's a scene were I was absolutely overcome with awe.  That's not easy.  Here they are:

4/17/07 Updated:  This is a small update.  I've posted updated pics for the Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 Kill Bill quads I first purchased.  They are in both the British Quad and Kill Bill sections of the site.  I've posted a cool new pic for my recent acquisition of the Ghost Rider lenticular which I was able to purchase recently from Kathy Klauer on the Movie Poster Bid site.  It was my first purchase from that forum and I'm pleased with the results.  I've added in the Advertising section a nice old Warner Brothers Featurette Stock poster that I picked up from Heritage.  That's it for tonight.  I've got about another 25 to go, and I'll post some more in the next day or so.

4/19/07 Update:  Actually, it's technically 11 p.m. on the 18th, but I'm living in the future a bit.  This completes the current round of updates, but there's a stack of posters under the bed to be photographed and posted this weekend. So, until then, here's what's been added:  in the Japanese section, new listings for Batman Returns, Black Book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Crying Freeman, Harry Potter COS, GOF and POA, LOTR ROTK, Matrix, Million Dollar Baby, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Perfume (awesome!), Usual Suspects, Spiderman 1 & 2, and The Holiday.  In the US sections, a pair of the advances for Children of Men, Grindhouse (the regular version), and Life is Cheap but Toilet Paper is Expensive.  Enjoy!

4/22/07 Update:  Another Midnight update, but it's when I work best on these things undisturbed by my sleeping, wonderful family.  I have a baby boy on the way any day now, and I fear I won't be able to keep up with this for some time.  I'm hopeful that between feedings in the wee hours of the morning I will have a chance to post a quick update here or there.  But for now, this may be it!

How about this super rare version of the Twins advance for Matrix Reloaded.  Notice what's different (if you don't already know about this)?  See the full pic in the Matrix section, and yes, it's a doublesided onesheet:

Onward with a few more difficult ones.  Here's a pair of Kill Bill quads, one for each volume.  Both are doublesided, and the Vol.1 quad has a foil-like silver back which I would guess is meant to keep the black a deep black and allow the letters to light up better in the lightbox:

And, to top off the quad additions, here's a nice doublesided one for Pan's Labyrinth. I can't wait for this one to be released to DVD:

In the Japanese section, there's a number of new additions.  They are:  The Black Dahlia, Corpse Bride, The Incredibles, a really nice Kill Bill video B2, The Last Samurai, Monsters Inc, and Terminator 3:  Here's a taste:

I've updated some pics in the US section, for the advance set of Children of Men and LIfe is Cheap But Toilet Paper is Expensive.  The latter is such a good looking poster that I've decided to post a copy on this main page in honor of the recent thread on MPF asking whether I've ever bought paper for a movie I've never seen -- here's one, and how!  I just couldn't resist the colors, the art, and the images.

Finally, I've updated the lightbox section to reflect that I've changed out Grindhouse and the Aussie Kill Bill for the Twins advance and one of the Children of Men advances listed above.

4/25/07 Update:  I've added some solid US onesheets to the collection - not super rare or anything, but posters that I've wanted to collect for some time.  They include:  Almost Famous, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Contact, Jungle Fever, and Mars Attacks.  Here's a small shot of Jungle Fever - which is a really great poster:

A few others posters that found their way into the collection in the US section are Ghost in the Shell 2 and Step Into Liquid.  I already have Ghost in the Shell 2 - Innocence, in a B1 Japanese version, and to this day I kick my self for passing on a onesheet of the original movie.

Lastly, there's a poster for each of Goldeneye and Die Another Day in the James Bond section, and I've changed out the posters in lightboxes as you'll see in that section.  Baby will be here in about 36 hours.  Oh boy....

4/27/07 Update:  Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the World's next great poster collector!  [NB:  On May 27, 2007, I deleted the photos of me and my new son due to the fact that I don't want them to be used in any nefarious way buy a particular person who has engaged me in fight club over at NS4.  Can never be too careful these days].

His name is Journey, he was yesterday at 12:24 p.m. and weighed in at 9 pounds and an ounce and is 20 1/2 inches long.  I have just enough time to post this for everyone to see just how wonderful life can be.  His mom and I are super pleased, even though we are exhausted.

May 1, 2007 Update: Well, nothing's going to beat having a new son in the world, but that doesn't take away from the joy I have in posting new acquisitions.  I have only two today, and they're in the International section.  Both are large French posters for Adolphe and Au Petit Marguery.  Both have images that please me and, though I have not seen the films they depict, they are for me great examples of the poster as art - especially Au Petit Marguery.

May 7, 2007 Update (12:30 a.m.):  In the words of The Donald, this is huge!  Journey's presence has actually allowed me to spend time on the structure of the site, and I've been able to accomplish a major overhaul in its functionality.  He's sleeping in my lap right now while I type this!  I'm sure that this site will continue to evolve, and that as I become more adept at using Frontpage and Dreamweaver that it will improve.  Please, email me if you find any dead links or problems with functionality.  I would greatly appreciate it.

Certainly, the menu bar to the left is new and, IMHO, a much needed addition to the site. Now, you don't have to navigate back home to jump to another section.  I'm working on the large US section, because to access all of those posters, you'll presently have to do so through the initial # A B C portal, as you'll see.

On the left you'll see the addition of a New Arrivals section.  My good friend Thierry recommended it, and now that I've been able to tackle the menu bar, it was easy to do.  I'll still continue summarizing new additions and special things on this page, though.

Finally, a few new posters are listed for Fantastic 4 and Elizabeth in the US section.

May 7, 2007 Update (10:50 p.m.).  Still tweaking the site.  New Arrivals include some nice Kill Bill French paper, three sets of French bus shelters for Casino Royale, Superman Returns and The Da Vinci Code, and some additional French paper for Nikita, the Professional and Bettie Blue.  Headed for the US section is one each for Heavy Metal and Excalibur.  Finally, there's a truly awesome Sensurround theater advertising poster that will be added to the Advertising section.  That one's a real find!

I've also added a new link on the bar to collections that I like.  In honor of his suggestion to do so, Eatbrie's got the first spot.  I'm taking applications for the others, and only a small fee will be charged to reserve your place ;-)

May 9, 2007 Update (12:08 a.m.).  Just a quick one.  What Dreams May Come, and some additions to the Descriptions section.

May 10, 2007 (12:47 a.m.).  I've begun to add posters to the new French section.  It's all stuff that's already on the site.  Like other areas, there will be overlap between that section and other areas, such as with the French Kill Bill paper that will be listed in both sections.  I've also decided to add a Batman section based on the recommendation of another collecting friend, angelflyover.

Finally, added in new additions:  Alien (Kilian), Austin Powers, Carlito's Way, Casino, Cat People, Dune (two moons and regular), E.T., Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, From Dusk 'Till Dawn, Imagine, Labyrinth, Magnolia, Mysters From Beyond Earth, Seven (regular and advance), and Sleepless in Seattle.

I'm not ready to take the little guy off the main page just yet, so back for his curtain call is my youngest son. How about that piercing gaze... he's ready for the courtroom!  (N.B.  moved 5/16/07).

[Deleted the pics on May 27, 2007]

May 14, 2007 (11:39 p.m.).  I've deleted a number of pieces from the Bond collection, because Heritage had a chimp pack the last tube and by the time it got here, the ends of most of the posters in the tube looked like used giftwrap.  Same held true with a nice advertising piece from Warner Brothers which I deleted because Heritage shipped it flat without backing boards!  I could handle such a thing from some dope on e**y, but Heritage?

I've updated the Lightbox area with pics of the Ghost Rider lenticular and the World is Not Enough.

In the New Arrivals section:  a) some Japanese paper for Far and Away, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Smokin' Aces, The Last Emperor, The Piano, The Wind that Shakes the Barley and XMen;  b) some US paper for Little Miss Sunshine, Ocean's 13, and Transformers; and c) some international paper for Spiderman 3 (a set of gorgeous Thai posters), The Namesake, and Death Note.  Plus, I've updated a number of pics.

May 16, 2007  (1:27 a.m.).  Some nice additions to the collection, which can be viewed in the New Arrivals section.  Three Belgian pieces for A.I., Ghost World and Donnie Darko.  A few British pieces for Donnie Darko, Fantastic Four and Kill Bill.  A couple of scarce pieces for the Bond collection, consisting of the character set of 3 for Casino Royale (small pics of Solange and Vesper are pictured below) and the rare recalled foil version of Tomorrow Never Dies.  Finally, there's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Species 2, and the Style F for Moulin Rouge.

May 19, 2007 (1:18 a.m.).  The baby's taking a break from torturing me, so I'm taking the opportunity to do some site maintenance.  I've transferred some listings from the New Arrivals section to the appropriate place on the site.  It's a pain to do it, so I guess I'll probably start doing about 10 at a time unless it get's to be too many sitting the the new section.  In any event, I've posted some nice Japanese paper to the New Arrivals section.  These include:  The Big Lebowski (pictured also below), Twin Peaks, Copying Beethovin, The Last King of Scotland, Rocky Balboa, Shooter, and Sunshine.  The best is, I believe, the Big Lebowski -- what a great image.

May 20, 2007 (2:43 a.m.).  Some site maintenance and some additions to the Wanted section.  I've also added a button to the left for the Wanted section.  (1:28 p.m.).  I've added some new pics of the lightboxes in action including my new sets for Austin Powers and Casino Royale.  I've also been adding to the descriptions section.  (11:12 p.m.).  The Death Note version of  a large French Kill Bill has been added directly to the Kill Bill section of the site.  In the New Arrivals, check out the fine set of 4 character bus shelters for the Sci-Fi Channel series, Battlestar Galactica.  There's also a bus shelter for the Season 1 poster.  I've been hunting for nice BSG paper for a long time and I'm happy to finally have it.

May 22, 2007 (12:28 a.m.). These bus shelters for Season 2 of BSG really should be front and center. They're awesome!

May 23, 2007 (11:21 p.m.).  OK, boys and girls, we have a HUGE update tonight.  But first, let me show you one of the most fantastic advertising posters now in the collection:

I cannot begin to tell you how hard it is to come by this poster, and just how rare it is.  The high-res image is in the New Arrivals section.  When you see this poster in person, it will give you vertigo.  It's like riding the Jaws ride at Disneyland (is that were it is?), when you go through that tunnel on the tram?  Anyway, I'm really excited to be able to add this to my collection.

Now for the rest of the New Arrivals:  All Japanese B2:  400 Blows, Splash, The Ring, The Return of the Pink Panther, The Night Porter, Mystery Train, The Last Emperor, Four Rooms, Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Sex, Death Race 2000, Dances With Wolves, Chinatown and Charly.  Also, we have Altered States, the character set for American Gangster, Angel Baby, Austin Powers Goldmember, Babylon Queen II, Bless the Beasts & Children, Dead Man, Donnie Darko, Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer, The Fifth Element, Hairspray, HP Order of the Phoenix, Matrix Reloaded Persephone, Moulin Rouge Style A and B, a Nightmare Before Christmas video poster, Requiem for a Dream, and (drumroll) Waitress.  I only hope you like looking at them as much as I like collecting them!

May 28, 2007  (11:46 a.m.)  Actually, I completed the upload last night, but I've been at war with Frontpage and the fact that my network drives keep disconnecting.  It cost me an hour's worth of work on the descriptions.  Anyway, we're back on track (knock-wood).  Here's a particularly nice advertising poster:

I'm using Bruce's pic until it arrives and I can shoot a better one, but it's a really plum image.  The rest of the update in the New Arrivals section has the following:  a) Japanese:  A.I., Gone With The Wind, The Ring, King Kong, One Piece, The Return of the Pink Panther, The Village, and Une Femme est Une Femme; b) Advertising:  23rd International Tournee of Animation, 24th (pictured above, as well) International Tournee of Animation, Bond Video Posters, Stars Video Poster, the Oscars poster for 2003 and the Mother's Day Waitress poster;  c) American and International onesheets:  Anastasia, Armegeddon, Atlantis, Basquiat, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Dragonheart, Edward Scissorhands, The English Patient, Face/Off, Fantasia R90, Ferngully, Flubber, The Lost World, Moulin Rouge, Mulan, and Pocahontas.

May 31, 2007  (9:49 p.m.)  I can't believe we're already done with May. My kids ended school today.  My eldest son will be starting 8th grade.  My daughter is now a high school freshman.  I picked them up from school and we got latte's from Starbucks to celebrate.  This, in the midst of my younger son turning one month old, and preparing for a week-long trial in a case I've labored over for three years.  It's a busy time, but fear not!  I have a small update.  Unfortunately, for the time being, you're only going to get stock pictures for the new arrivals for the French section:  a superb set of doublesided character bus shelter posters, six in total, for the Brotherhood of the Wolf or Le Pacte des Lupes.  Another set of 3 doublesided character posters for Blood Diamond.  And, to round out the lot, French paper for Superman Returns, Stealing Beauty, Kill Bill 2 (Death Note) and a great set of Nightmare Before Christmas panels.

Finally, I've started moving the posters in the International section to what is now called the U.S. & Int'l section.  It reached the point that it made no sense to separate U.S. from International as my collection has grown.  Obviously, some of the bigger international areas I've separated off for France, Japan, Poland, Russia and Britain.  I would do so for other countries if enough posters accumulated.  Australia will likely be next.  It will take some time to make the whole transition, so if you don't see it in the old, ongoing International section, then it's been moved.

June 2, 2007 (11:46 p.m.).  The old International section has now been completely migrated to the new, combined U.S. & Int'l section.  Now, I'm starting to work on transferring posters for movies that start with "the" in the title to what should have been the proper section.  For instance, I originally listed The Nightmare Before Christmas under the t's, now it's in the n's.  What a brain fart it was to list it under the t's.  So far, I've transferred up to the c's.

June 13, 2007 (12:33 a.m.):  This is a big update.  I've moved all of last month's new arrivals out into their proper sections, and there's a whole bunch to take their place.  First, here's some nice up-front shots of some of my favorites:

The whole update:

June 16, 2007 (1:13 a.m.)  New articles have been added to the Authentication Section for Donnie Darko and the insert for Jaws.

(10:58 p.m.).  I've added some nice pics of Deep Blue and Basquiat in the lighboxes.  I've also added a couple of King Kong onesheets to the New Arrivals.  I have a bunch that need to  be photographed, and I'm hoping to do that tomorrow.

June 17, 2007 (11:53 p.m. Father's Day).  Lot's of new additions, but here's the real gem of this batch, a Japanese B1 for Paprika:

I love the art for the US version of the poster, and I was really thrilled to have the chance to acquire this version which I believe is even better.  The remaining new arrivals are as follows:

a)  US material for 28 Weeks (plus a wilding version), Bg, Day Watch, From Dusk Till Dawn, For  Your Eyes Only (rolled), Resident Evil Extinction, and Titan AE;

b) a fantastic set of 5 double-sided international onesheets for Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End;

c) three theater ad posters for a 1999 Academy Awards contest, for a limited run of Naruto, and some Warners Bros. 75th Anniversary films; and

d) Japanese material for Alien 3, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (two versions), the Constant Gardener, the Da Vinci Code, Danny the Dog, the Devil Wears Prada, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Mad Max, Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest, and the Producers.

June 24, 2007 (10:48 p.m.).  I've had a LOT of work recently, so I haven't been able to keep up with photographing and posting updates as much as I like.  I was able to get some done tonight.  Here's a couple of highlights. First, a poster I have been after for a long time. I first put it in my Wanted section in October 2006 when I could not find a copy that I could afford.  Finally, I guess a few people were sleeping the day I won this on e**y, but I finally got it at a great price.  Here it is, the Japanese B0 for Apocalypse Now:

A couple of more which are also quite nice:

The rest of the update:  City of Lost Children (US and Aussie), Ferris Bueller's Day Off, a set of Finding Nemo, some nice Japanese B1's for For Love of the Game, Pirates of the Caribben Curse of the Black Pearl, Sakuya, and the Messenger, the Usual Suspects, This is Spinal Tap, Slap Shot, Leon/the Professional, Planet of the Apes, Metamorphoses, Full-Tilt Boogie, the Grudge 2, Heat, Heavy Metal and the Godfather III.

July 2, 2007 (9 p.m.):  I've spent a lot of time correcting a whole bunch of typos and coding errors throughout the site.  Having done that (and not being finished with it), I'm putting up some new additions to the collection.  They are all really nice, but the super special ones are these:

The one on the left, of course, is the international version for the Matrix.  You can find a zillion copies of this one on e**y every day, often referenced as the "dark" version of the Matrix poster.  But, you'll be lucky if you find another copy of this  original on e**y or anywhere else for that matter.  This poster is, perhaps, the rarest of all the Matrix posters out there.  A close runner up, but even so not as rare, is the B1 pictured to the right.  This features alternate international art. Both are really cool, and I'm thrilled to add them both to my collection.

The rest of the update includes the following:

Japanese:  A Good Woman, Creep, Die Another Day, Downfall, Land of Plenty, Lemony Snickett, Leon (a super rare B1), Madagascar, Manderlay, Mission Impossible III, Munich, Romeo is Bleeding, Shakespeare in Love, Sin City, The Sixth Sense, Sleepy Hollow, Star Trek Insurrection, and United 93.

United States and International:  Carrotblanca, Disturbia, Donnie Darko Director's Cut, Dumbo Rerelease, Hellboy, Kill Bill Mylar Sword, Manhunter, Matrix Reloaded Twins Variant, Moulin Rouge Beauty, Freedom, Truth, Love and Style E, Requiem for a Dream International, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, all three versions of Silence of the Lambs, a rare advance for Sleeping Beauty, an international Spiderman 3 (Thai?), and Supernova

Finally, in the Advertising section, a nice addition from Warner Bros.  I hope you enjoy them all as much as I do.

July 8, 2007 (10:59 p.m.).  Some more great paper.  Here's a few nice Japanese:

Japanese:  After the Sunset, Bewitched, Blood Diamond, Falling Down, The Fifth Element, Final Destination, Flags of our Fathers, In Her Shoes, Irreversible, King Kong, L'Appartement, Little Miss Sunshine, Little Shop of Horrors, Matchpoint, Nightmare,  Over the Hedge, Pirates of the Caribbean (2 versions), Perfume, Rocky Balboa, Shark Tale, Sahara, Sixth Sense, Spiderman 2, the Cave, the Island, Wallace & Gromit, and Zathura.

Batman franchise: Batman & Robin (4 versions), Batman (2 versions) and Batman Returns (3 versions)

James Bond:  40th Anniversary checklist, Die Another Day (character posters for Graves and Zao, international and US), Goldeneye, The World is Not Enough,

Kill Bill:  a nice B3 and a UK version.

Advertising:  an original 1984 THX poster.

July 18, 2007 Update (12:15 a.m.).  Mostly Japanese posters added, including:  Babel, Beyond the Sea, Danny the Dog (Unleashed), Delicatessen, Elektra, Fantastic 4, Lady Chatterly's Lover, Princess Raccoon, Lord of War, Music & Lyrics, two Star Wars advertising pieces, The Goonies, and The Queen.  Also, I received my quad for Almost Famous, so I've updated the pic which can be found in the British section.

July 23, 2007 (11:54 p.m.).  Quite a nice batch of posters to and, and some new additions (finally!) to the Lightbox section. First, two highlights from one of Bruce's recent auctions -- two posters that I've been hunting for a LONG time:

And the rest of the update:

American/International:  30 Days of Night, Across the Universe, Ed Wood (Australian), the Incredibles (Robert McGinnis version), the Professional (Australian), the Quick and the Dead (Australian), and War.

Japan:  Atlantis, Aurore, Blackjack, the Cat Returns, Conan, Duplex, Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, High School Musical, Lucky Number Slevin, Racing Stripes, Spiderman 3 and XMen 3.

IMAX:  Beauty and the Beast and one for the new Harry Potter.

Advertising:  Eye Weekly, a contest in relation to the new Harry Potter and the Simpsons movie.

August 4, 2007 (12 noon).  I've been doing some technical work on the site which I'll not get into.  I have added a new Bus Shelter section, because I've finally begun the process of photographing the bus shelter posters that I've acquired over the past year or so.  They are not easy to photograph, because they have to be hung in a way that does not wrinkle them, but which holds them unrolled so that the pictures can be taken. I turns out that the technique I am using also allows me to shoot the large French, Japanese B0, and door panel posters in the same manner.  I'm pleased, because I have some really nice paper in these larger sizes that I've missed on my site.

I decided to start collecting bus shelters because I want to build a lightbox that size in my new home theater.  We haven't moved into the new house yet, but the new home theater will have lightboxes for onesheets (two of them), bus shelters (one), and quads (one).  I'm also going to build a lightbox for  Japanese B1's in my office, in that I have a number of doublesided B1's that will display nicely.  I also suspect that many of the single sided B1's will also display well given the thicker paper some of them are on.  These large posters are awesome in person.

I started on them with the set of 10 Lord of the Rings posters I have, rolled and doublesided.  I originally thought they were large French, but Iearned that in fact they are French bus shelters.   I learned because they are larger than the standard size for a large French, and I was trying to track down the reason why.  Turns out that there are no doublesided large French posters that I am aware of.  Any of the doublesided French paper appears to be bus shelters.

Now, I have discovered that a lot of the large French material that is usually folded can be acquired rolled.  It's not as rare as I thought.  But, the paper is so much lighter that the rolled forms pose a serious handling problem -- they wrinkle very easily.  Thankfully, I don't have too much.  I actually prefer folded large French paper!  So, the update... but first, here's a few highlights.  This is the UK bus shelter for Memoirs of a Geisha -- only the Japanese B1 comes close in terms of magnificence:

Next, here's a pair of Large French posters for The Nightmare Before Christmas -- I have never seen these until I purchased them from a great French dealer, and they are some of the nicest NBC posters out there, in my opinion:

As for the rest, here they are:

Television:  Strictly speaking, not new to the sight, but check out the updated, hi-res pics of the Battlestar Galactica posters from the Sci-Fi Channel series.  They are doublesided bus shelters in what I believe is vinyl rather than heavy stock paper, but it feels like paper.  They are really superb.

Large French: The Clan of the Cave Bear, Chinatown (reissue), The Fountain, Kill Bill French Door panel, Kill Bill large (several versions), L'Alliance, The Professional (Leon), The Nightmare Before Christmas (three versions), la Femme Nikita, The Secretary, Stargate, and Stealing Beauty.

U.K. bus shelters: Flightplan, Kill Bill Vol.2, Madagascar, Memoirs of a Geisha, Pirates 3 (set of 5), and Zathura.

August 6, 2007  (11:00 p.m.):  And we continue with the new shots of the bus shelters and large French paper I've had lying around for awhile now.  It's all French material tonight.  First, there's a set of six character posters for Brotherhood of the Wolf, which includes as the highlight Monica Belucci.  Next, there's a set of three character posters for Blood Diamond, including the delightful Jennifer Connelly.  Finally, there's a single for Superman Returns in a neat newspaper headline format which diverts substantially from all of the other paper out there for this movie, and a single for Spiderman 3.  The best two are, in my humble opinion, depicted in the following shots.  I hope you like them.

August 9, 2007 (Midnight):  Another latenite update.  I've taken a few more pics of some large posters I've had around for a few months.  There's the large French for Immortel and Angel-A, and an additional French bus shelter for Angel-A.  I've taken a shot of the Japanese B0 I have for Apocalypse Now and Disney's Atlantis.  And, there's an extra special, huge outdoor poster (banner?) for Donnie Darko in relation to the Stella Artois Film Festival held in Greenwich Park London on July 22-23, 2006.  What's fabulous about the poster is that it initially looks like the same poster you've seen for this movie, which itself is really cool, but if you look carefully and closer, you will see a real surprise -- the artwork inside the bunny is completely different, and even more cool!  Here's a small shot of it, alongside the large French for Immortel which I found to be a pretty good movie.  If you ever read the DVD liner notes for Immortel, and if you know the storyline for Stargate, you would think they were the same movie -- but they are completely different!  Enjoy them all!

August 10, 2007 (11:07 p.m.).  This is the last of the large stuff, I think, unless I have a tube lying around that I've forgotten about temporarily.  What's good about that is that I can misplace something, forget I have it, and then be thrilled when I find it!  In this batch, this was the first time that I opened the tubes (there were two) and actually had a good look at what I had bought.  They are all nice, but some are really special.  For instance, the Da Vinci Code bus shelter set is really nice, and so is the Matrix Reloaded bus shelter set (both French), but the two ladies are most awesome, and are my favorites of the two sets:

Now that I've gone through all the doublesided bus shelters that I have, I'm amped about building a lightbox for them.  I'm torn between doing one on the wall, and doing one of the freestanding ones I see in the theaters.  My tendency, now, is to building a freestanding one such that I can display two at a time, one on each side of the box.  We'll see.

The other set that I'm pleased with is for Superman Returns.  Here's my favorite of the set:

I have a similar version as a quad, but this one better captures the image, including the positioning between the two of them.  In person, it is really spectacular.  Lastly, I acquired a rolled large French for a version of Leon, to replace my folded version.  Again, rolled French paper is really hard to handle.  It's thin and very prone to creasing.  I have to be very patient when photographing it.

This weekend, I'll shoot about 20 or so B1's that have come in during this little diversion into the large format paper, and I'll add a few other nice pieces too.

August 12, 2007  (8:36 p.m.).  I have a whole mess of Japanese posters to list, as well as some other neat US, British and international material.  There's a lot of nice paper here, and it was hard picking a few to post here on the home page.  This is what I came up with.  First, two really superb B1's for Beyond Borders and LA Confidential:

Next is this awesome limited edition quad for the Director's Cut of Alien.  This is printed on cardstock.  As you can see in the area with the green smoke coming out of the egg, there's a cut-out area.  Behind that area, on the backside of the poster, there's a piece of ghoulish-green film that measures about 8" x 10".  The film is to be placed on the back of the poster so that when it's lit in the lightbox, only the crack in the egg lights up as glowing smoke!  I haven't built a quad lightbox yet, but when I do, this one's the first to be displayed for sure!  There are full size pictures of all of these in the New Arrivals section.

The rest of the updated includes the following:

US and International:  two new Dune styles, Entertainment Tonight ad poster, Love Story, Heavy Metal, Excalibur, Secretary, Kill Bill Vol.1 (Yugoslavian),  Foxfire, 48 Hours (British), The Lion King Ad Radio City Music Hall, 28 Weeks Later,  Make Them Die Slowly (German), Spirited Away, Black Snake Moan (Jackson and Ricci), DOA (three character styles plus the advance), Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer Surfer limited unnumbered of 500, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix quad.

Japanese:  Bushi No Ichibun video, Beyond Borders (two styles) b1, Saving Private Ryan b1, Deathnote mylar b2, LA Confidential b1, The Untouchables b1, Mr. Wonderful b1, 5 x 2 b1, Happy Feet b1, Ladder 49 b1, Tomorrow Never Dies b1, two styles for The Omen b1, World Trade Center b1, Ice Age 2 b1, Cars b1, Snakes On a Plane b1, Mission Impossible 3 (two styles) b1, Syriana b1, Angel-A b1, and The Black Dahlia b1

August 15, 2007 (10:25 p.m.).  Well, let's get right to it.  First, two quads that I've been waiting for some time to receive.

Next are two Japanese B1's.  Marie Antoinette I like because I'm a fan of Kirstin Dunst and Sophia Coppola.  This poster is distinct from the other paper I've seen for the movie.  Inland Empire surprised me.  The B1 is much more subdued and moody than the quad.  In any event, I like them both very much.

The rest of the update:  Hayflower and Quiltshoe b1, Two Sons of Francisco b1, Nacho Libre b1, Brokeback Mountain b1, Point Break b1, About Schmidt b1, 2 Fast 2 Furious b1, Inland Empire b1, World's Fastest Indian, and Screaming Masterpiece b2.

August 23, 2007 (11:20 p.m.):  Today I'm adding new Japanese B1's to the collection, consisting of the following: Duelist, Shrek 3, Rize, Volver (pictured below and probably my favorite of the lot), Die Hard 4, The Terminal, Catch a Fire, Dreamgirls, Inside Man, and Ray.

September 12, 2007 (11:30 p.m.)  We're two days away from moving into our new home, so I've been behind in updating my site.  What's listed here is a nice batch of posters.

There's about 12 new Japanese posters for 8 Femmes, Detective Conan (2006), 300,  Prairie Home Companion, Shooter, Smokin' Aces, The Banquet, Tomb Raider, Zodiac and Transformers (all B1's except Transformers).   I love them all, but of the lot, Angelina really took my breath:

I have finally located a double sided set of character posters for Jackie Brown!  It's the full set of 6 characters, plus the money bag, plus a regular version with the cast.  It's awesome!  Here's Bridget:

Next, I've also finally located a full set of 4 of the posters for John Lennon's Imagine film.  I've had only one for awhile, and I've wanted the set for some time.

For the new Fantastic Four movie, Rise of the Silver Surfer, I located not one, but two sets of character posters, all double sided.  They're really sweet, even though some don't like the movie too much.  I really like the character sets!

Having fallen in love with the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I located a double sided set of the character posters.  I still need the regular, and over time I'll probably put together some other paper for the movie, if it's interesting.

Finally, in the Advertising section, I found some great posters!  First, a double sided DTS that I've not seen before.  Next, and just in time for Halloween, not one but two of the Saw II Blood Drive posters (too bad the idiots shipping one copy just destroyed it with poor packing), finally, a legitimate, full-size onesheet for the original Saw Blood Drive poster!  Here's a shot:

These are all really great posters.  Find them all in the New Arrivals section!

October 30, 2007 (11:00 p.m.)   Has it been a long time or what!  I've actually had people ask me when I would be updating the site, and those people know that I've been through a lot these past few months.  I'm not getting into the details other than to add that we moved into a great big new home in which I now have a large home office.  I was able to move all of the posters held in my flat file storage unit to the home.  But, the process of moving everything took a long time.  Plus, I've added some great new built in shelves that we purchased from IKEA ( I love that store! )  with glass doors, and they took an entire weekend to install.  So, here I am, months later, with a somewhat meager but useful update.  I have (truly) over 100 new posters to add!

For now, there's a rather eclectic assortment of mostly Japanese material.  However, there's some shining stars to the lot. First, I purchased my first Chinese posters;  they are not movie-related, but are rather Red China-oriented propaganda posters.  They are striking, and I hope you like them as much as I do.  I had to purchase the two new Saw IV Blood Drive posters, even though everyone seems to have them.  Beyond this, the rest of the update includes come cool new Japanese material, including my first Japanese "pink" poster, and a superb set of four B1's for The Last Samurai.  Have fun!

November 15, 2007 (11:40 p.m.)  My job is taking away from my time to deal with my poster collection!  How's that for putting the cart before the horse.

This is what happens when I let this stuff back up so much.  It becomes cumbersome, and then I procrastinate with getting it done. Alas, this is a nice update and it's worth the wait I think.

As you would imagine, there's many new Japanese posters.  However, before getting there, I wanted to first showcase my nice new copy of  Blade Runner, the Final Cut:

To this day, probably around 30 years since I first saw this movie, it is still my favorite movie.  Like favorite movies should be, I can watch it any time, anywhere.  This poster is well done, and I'm pleased they took the time to have a master do this poster, rather than some hack with a copy of photoshop and a cheap laptop!

Next is this marvel of a poster for Akira:

I've been waiting for a copy of this for a long time, and finally, one came up in Bruce's recent auction.  The copy is not the greatest, but it will hold me over until I can upgrade it.  I think this poster is spectacular!

Equally so are the pair below for Tales from Earthsea:

These might be among the finest animation posters to come out of Japan in a long time.  I have added both in the B2, and I'm waiting for a B1 to arrive for the first one pictured above.

On with the spledor!  At last, after years of waiting, I found a great B1 of Ghost in the Shell, not only for the one I covet, but the alternate version as well:

With these B1's alone, I should be satisfied.  But, have a look at the rest of the update.  There's even more great titles and art.  Take a look in the New Arrivals section for 11/15/07.  Now, just about 100 to go!

December 7, 2007 (5 p.m.)  All Japanese posters in this update except for a really nice double sided onesheet for Death Proof.  I'm watching my young son right now, so it's not easy to really concentrate on what I'm doing here.  That said, my favorites of this lot are pictured below.    The rest of the newly listed posters are in the New Arrivals section for December 7.

I enjoy the art on the U.S. posters for Arthur and the Invisibles.  So, when I saw the Japanese B1 pictured below, I was especially pleased because, in my opinion, the art is even better:

Here's the new Death Proof onesheet:

This B1 for Dune is really neat.  It has some of the best features of the U.S. and international art, combined with the animation insets that I've not seen elsewhere.  The come together to make up a really cool poster fro one of my favorite Sci-Fi stories of all time.

With this acquisition, I now have both B1's for Clint's most recent effort.  This particular poster is most appropriate in the Japanese version.

At last, I have the B1 for one of my favorite movies!

And one last thing -- the Japanese section has grown so much that it was time to split it up. I've done the same thing as has existed in the US/International section, which is to link to the # A B C portion from the linkbar on the side, and to link to the later sections within the first section.  You'll see what I mean.  There's a set of links at the top and bottom of each page.  Let me know if anything doesn't work.

December 17, 2007 (11:34 p.m.)  Ta-Da!  I thought I had about 100 to go to finally catch up, but it was only 52 or so.  I'm pleased that I was able to get through what I did over the past two months.  With this update, I am officially caught up! (N.B., as with all good poster collections, there's no doubt too many that have gone missing in between the drawers, so to speak.  I'll find them as I begin the great reorganization to catalog what drawers contain which posters!).

There's quite a variety in this update.  As you would expect, there's a lot of Japanese material.  Here's a few that stand out:

The Ring 2 -- I wish you could see the glossy, embossed blood splatters in the lettering!

Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Prozac Nation

A most cool, Lady in the Water

The somewhat rare, Halloween B2

The spectacular B1 for Hairspray

Finding Nemo

Stardust

Seven Swords

Amazingly (and, my significant other would say, sadly), there's even more Japanese material posted, and it's all pretty cool.  Next, here's the rare onesheet for Secretary which I've been after for awhile (the poster that is):

Make sure you check out the full-sized pic in the New Arrivals section.  This poster is great, and it's been on my wants list for a long time.  If you think James Spader is great in Boston Legal, you should see him in this movie.  And, if you haven't seen it, trust me, it's not what it seems from the poster's art!

Finally, but certainly not the least, are some great additions to my advertising poster section.  I greatly enjoy this area of my collection, and it's a real pleasure for me to add new pieces to this area.

Here's a poster put out by Starz using Kill Bill (another beloved collecting area) to promote sales:

Next, not one but three double sided onesheets for the Saw III (2006) series of Blood DRive posters, all with the supposedly "recalled" Red Cross artwork.  I don't know if the story is true or not, but supposedly the Red Cross did not authorize use of the symbol, and the posters were withdrawn. In any event, here are of the five!

And the best for last ....  Here's a theater ad for the HD-DVD release for the very first ep of Star Trek - The Original Series.  The poster is full onesheet size, and it's double sided.  You would think that these theater ad posters like this would be all over the place.  But, sadly, they are not.  I guess people assume that no one collects these, but they would be wrong!  Actually, the posters in this part of my collection are extremely hard to come by.  I wish I could find more of them!  Because I love this one so much, it's displayed below in full resolution.

December 18, 2007 (9:28 p.m.)  A quick update to add three Japanese B2's that fell through the cracks last night.  They're at the bottom of the New Arrivals page.

January 14, 2008 (10:06 p.m.):  The first update of 2008!  First, two nice additions to the advertising section -- thanks to my good friend Jason S. for helping me locate these! Also new to the Advertising section is another Toronto Film Festival poster for 2004.

Next, in the U.S. and International section, there's a number of new additions including the following two.  If you haven't seen Hal Hartley's Henry Fool and the follow-up, Fay Grim, you're missing out.

Also added to the U.S. and International Section are:  10,000 B.C., A River Runs Through It, two for AVP Requiem, Any Given Sunday, three different version for The Golden Compass, two international versions for  Hitman, one of which is pictured above, Inside Deep Throat, the lenticular for Speed Racer, which is pictured in the Lightbox section for now, Million Dollar Baby, The Neverending Story, Stardust, Sweeney Todd, the Grinch, a lenticular for The Santa Clause and Twister.

In the Japanese section, there's a few new ones.  I am very happy to add the B1 for The Fountain, pictured below.  I'm a huge fan of this move, and I'm really pleased to add this difficult poster to my collection.

Also added to the Japanese section are B1's for Alexander and Freedom Writers.

Lastly, in the section for Britain, you can find quads for Everything is Illuminated, Brick and Shadow of the Vampire.  May you enjoy them all as much as I do.

January 27, 2008 (9:45 p.m.)  Alas, another Sunday gone.  It was a sad weekend because I good friend of mine was shot dead early Saturday morning in an armed robbery.  As I  write this, I am reminded how temporary and precious life is, and how it is not to be squandered.

I've managed to put together the most recent arrivals.  At last, I'm caught up in my purchases.  I'm going to be slowing down to a trickle those purchases, because I want to spend some time with this site, and with the new  authentication site that Jeannie has started.  If you have not seen it, check it out:  Movie Poster Authenticating  Finally, there's a group of collectors like me who are going to take a stab at building a new authentication site -- by collectors for collectors.  It's a work in progress for all of those participating, like me, Thierry and Jeannie, but damn if it's not well-needed and worth the effort.

Now, here's some  highlights of this update:  Heading the list is the Japanese B2 for Black Orpheus.  It's a beautiful poster, and I've long wanted to get one, but he prices are always crazy.  This was the first reasonably priced one I was able to purchase.

Next, the B1's for I Am Legend, Resident Evil 3 and a Gibli animation poster, Raccoon War 1.

Last, but certainly not least is this fantastically rare onesheet for Planet Terror.  I have heard of just two other copies of this poster, and I was able to obtain it only because of the good relationship I have with the collector that had the contact.  I'm fortunate in that regard.

There are some other good additions to the collection, including the following:

In the US and International Section, onesheets for Gattaca (the rare advavnce), the superb Korean film Shiri, I Am Legend, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, a whole bunch of Matrix posters that I bought to get a few that I did not have, Tank Girl, The Water Horse, and the Oscar nominee There Will Be Blood.

Lastly, In the Japanese Section, Chapter 27, Hokuto No Ken, Malena, National Treasure 2, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Nativity Story, and Wayne's World.

February 16, 2008 3:58 p.m.  At last, another update.  You can now check out the new Quentin Tarantino section.  Follow the button on the left.  It's rough right now, and I'm considering designing those pages in Dreamweaver rather than FrontPage.  We'll see.

Now, for the posters.  Here are the highlights -- you'll find the full-sized pics, as always, in the applicable sections of the site.

First, it's that time of year for the Oscars, so here's the ds onesheet:

Next, it's been awhile since I've bought some new posters, so here's the new one for Sex and the City -- I have no doubt that it will look sharp in the lightbox.

And here's another two fun posters that I've been after for a long time, both double sided of course:

Now, here's two new Japanese B1's for Gibli's Tales from Earthsea -- these are among my favorite Japanese posters to date.

These next B1's are just good looking posters, especially the one for Four Minutes

How about the contrasting bloods splatters on this B1 for AVP2!

Finally, my favorite of them all, here's the Polish B1 for Picnic at Hanging Rock.

As for the rest of the update, in the US and International section, you'll also find:  88 Minutes, Casandra's Dream, Cloverfield, a rare one for Grindhouse: Death Proof, the Forbidden Kingdom, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Juno, some Matrix Revolutions posters to help fill some holes in that collection, Michael Clayton, Planet of the Apes, a set of material for Shawshank Redemption, the new Style D for Revenge of the Sith, Untraceable and The Water Horse.

In the Japanese section, there's:   A Good Year, Chinggis Khan, Evangelion, Godzilla Final Wars, I Robot, LA Confidential, Praha, and The Hitcher.

March 2, 2008 10:37 p.m.  I've added some cool new stuff.  First, there's a new section with picures of my office setup for posters.  The link is on the bar to the left.  There's also a new link in the Lightbox section with pictures of the bus shelter lightbox construction.  Finally, in the Authentication section, I have set up the beginnings of a section for authenticating the green US style onesheet for Amelie.

As far as new arrivals, here's the highlights:

I've been looking for a copy of this poster for awhile now, and was happy to find this Aussie version, though I hate the snipe on these posters:

Next, this Japanese B1 for Earth is really cool:

Saving the best for last, I am very proud to have this pair of B1's for Ang Lee's Lust, Caution:

As for the rest, here's what the rest of the update includes:  Atonement (US and international), international version of The Dark Knight and Jumper, a rare bus shelter for Kill Bill and one not so rare for the 2008 Oscars, Japanese B1's for Boom, an alternate version of Earth, the Assassination of Jesse James, and Bridge to Terabithia, a B2 for The Wicker Man, an Australian Star Wars Phantom Menace, and onesheets for Metallica and One Missed Call.

April 24, 2008 (12:30 a.m.):  Finally!  A new update.  There's about 71 new posters in this update, accumulated over the past few months.  Mostly, they consist of Japanese and US material, with a few extra goodies thrown in.  Here's some highlights.

First, in the really cool and not-so-common category are Slacker and the double sided version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas:

Here are two Japanese B1's that I think are quite beautiful, neither being particularly common:

I have not  yet seen Naked Lunch, but the posters are irresistable.  I've looked for them for a long time, and imagine finding both of these within a few weeks of one another:

I have had the railroad version of the B1 for My Neighbor Totoro for awhile.  This is the rarer version that I was finally able to find at a reasonable price:

I rarely buy Japanese b2's but I could not resist this one.  It's just awesome, entitled Toga:

Another one I've been after!  I love the New Jersey Trilogy, and I finally found this one for Mallrats.  Can you see what's in there?  You may need to check out the full size scan in the New Arrivals section:

At last, I am able to replace my folded copy of Liquid Sky with this near mint, rolled copy!

Another pleasing find is this advance for I Robot, double sided of course:

Here's a rare advertising poster for Toy Story when it was released at the El Capitan theater:

Last, but certainly not least, is this double sided quad for Pulp Fiction.  I'm grateful for this one, because it's the only  Pulp Fiction paper that I can put into a lightbox, given that the rest is single sided.

Here's the rest of the update in New Arrivals:

Japanese (mostly B1's):  Apt Pupil, AVP Requiem (alternate version), Bad Boys, two version of Battle Royale, Beat Takeshi, Bee Movie, Catch a Fire, Dreamgirls (two versions), Elizabeth The Golden Age (B2), Emperor of the NOrth, End of Days (two versions), Enemy of the State, Fantasia 2000, Futureworld, Gerard Philipe Film Festival, Grave of the Fireflies, I Am Legend, Inconvenient Truth, Les Enfants Du Paradis, Little Shop of Horrors, Lust Caution, Masters of the Universe, My Neighbor Totoro, Naked Lunch, Negotiator, The Notorious Bettie Page, Payback, Perfect Stranger (b2), Porco Rosso, Proof of Life, The Science of Sleep (b2), Sin City, Spriggan, Star Trek the Motion Picture, The Big Hit, The Holiday, The Mummy (two versions), The Sixth Day, Toga (b2), Transformers (two versions !!!!), Uncle Tom, and Whisper of the Heart

Onesheets, US & International:  Alien Resurection, Batman Returns, Crouching Tiger Hidden Draggon (yes, it's real and double sided), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Funny Lady, I Robot, Interview With The Vampire, Last Man Standing, Lawnmower Man, Liquid Sky, Mallrats, Naked Lunch, No Country for Old Men, Oceans 12 (two versions), Slacker, the Ring, There Will Be Blood, The Tuxedo, and What Dreams May Come.

A few advertising posters for Toy Story (El Capitan) and I Am Legend (Imax), and British quads for Amelie and Pulp Fiction.

Hopefully, I'll have another update sooner than this.  I have some great B1's waiting to be photographed, including Jumper and No Country for Old Men.  Also, I just got a huge connection that allowed me to get some truly great advertising posters -- I may be the only one in the world that thinks they are awesome, but that's fine!  'Till the next time.

April 30, 2008 (9:30 p.m.):  I can't believe it!  Another update in the same month!  Not as many this time, but a whole bunch of good  stuff I must say.  Consider these among the new additions:

First up is the B1 for No Country for Old Men, double sided, matte finish on heavy stock.  This is a great poster.

This B2 for The Darjeeling Limited is really nice, too.  This is the second version I have, and I only wish I could locate them in a B1.

The next one is, for those who know me, near and dear to my heart.  I finally met someone who was able to provide some real in-house advertising posters.  These are the ones displayed in  lightboxes in the lobby, but which advertise just about anything but a movie.  Here's one of the best, and you'll find another five or so in the New Arrivals section.  A handful more are on the way:

Here's another After Dark Horrorfest to add to the Advertising section:

Last, here's two brand new THX posters for the Advertising section.  By the way, all of these ad posters are rolled and double sided for the lightboxes.  I've got the Horton version up right now!

The rest of the update includes:

Onesheets:  10,000 B.C., The Dark Knight (both versions are in the Batman section -- I've seen so much of the Heath version that I didn't even bother to put it on the slash page of my site), Flawless, I Know Who Killed Me, Indiana Jones - Crystal Skull, Iron Man, Jumper, Quantum of Solace (in the Bond section), Silk and the final for Sweeney Todd.

I've added a great quad for Stargate that should, by all rights, be on this page too.

Japanese:  28 Weeks, The Darjeeling Limited, Freedom Writers, Good Will Hunting, Jumper, Next, No Country for Old Men, Sad Movie, and Shooter.

Advertising and Television:  After Dark  Horrorfest 2007, AMC posters, DTS, Movie Tickets.com, Pushing Daisies, and the THX posters.

Lastly, there's a long overdue update to the Lightbox section.  More to come soon!

Mother's Day (May 11, 2008 6:56 p.m.)

All the Mom's in my life have been duly worshiped.  My young son is next to me watching the Baby Bach production from the Little Einstein company.  They're really good programs for those of you who have young-uns.  I'm watching him so that the main Mom can rest for a bit.

That gives me some time to work on the site!  This update is not as large as the last few, but that's because yesterday, when I was taking the pictures of the recent acquisitions, I was interrupted by my older son who, while playing with his little brother, pulled something in his leg.  Once interrupted, I couldn't get back to finish shooting the remaining 10 or so posters.  They'll be in the next update, hopefully in about a week.

For now, have a look at what I was able to get through. First, here's a B1 for Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium.  I have not seen the movie, and frankly, I don't know that I want to.  I did not buy a single one of the onesheets available, because they were mostly predictable stuff.  However, when I came across this B1, I was really happy to find it -- it's the best art that I've seen for the movie.  Leave it to the Japanese marketing gurus to do it the right way.

Next is this cool alternate art for Jumper on the second B1 I was able to locate.

This is one of the two B1's I now have for the Golden Compass.  This one is my favored because it combines available art from US and international paper.  I just watched the movie about a week ago, and I liked it.

It's not easy to get Japanese paper for movies that are not through their release cycle in Japan.  Usually, I have to wait for the movies to clear the theater before the managers allow the posters to move into collectors' hands.  So, I'm happy to have this B1 for Speed Racer now.

These last two onesheets are both directorial works of Lars Von Trier.  I have wanted these posters for a long time simply because they are really good concepts.  I'm pleased to now add them to my collection.  The Kindgom is a television series, and the poster is listed in that section.

Here's the rest of the update:

Japanese:  The Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian, Evening, Factory Girl, The Golden Compass, Grace is Gone, I'm Not There, Lilac, Mission Impossible 2, Silk, Sky Crawlers, Vantage Point and The Water Horse

US and International:  Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Advertising:  THX featuring Raiders of the Lost Ark

May 24, 2008 (11:57 p.m.)  It's a real mix in this update.  First, here's the Japanese B2 and US versions for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.  On a whim, I picked up the DVD from the video store.  It turned out to be a fantastic movie, perhaps one of the best I have ever seen.

I have waited a long time to add the onesheet for Blame it on Rio to my collection, simply because I could not find one that was rolled.  This is one of those posters where the fold lines really detract from the poster.  Finally, I was able to locate a rolled copy.

This is the British onesheet for Highlander.  I'd never seen it before, and I really like the art in comparison to the other paper out there for this movie.

I was never put over the edge to buy this poster because it was always folded.  When rolled copies showed up for sale, I jumped at the chance to buy one.  Just after these were gone, the alternate version was also put up for sale on the same site, so that one will also be here soon.  Cool move and cool poster.

A few more for the advertising section.

This is the first time I have seen one of these particular ratings posters come up for sale, and I am really pleased that it is getting added to my collection.  The Halloween double feature poster is also a nice addition.

Supposedly, I have a Japanese B1 of My Blueberry Nights coming, but it's not in hand yet.  So, I live with this US onesheet which is not too shabby.  It's displayed in one of my lightboxes, and the colors really pop.

Last but not least, here's one for Thierry!

The rest of the update:

US and International:  A Simple Wish, Atonement, Before the Rains, Caravan of Courage (two styles0, Chicago 10, Holy Man, Honky Tonk Freeway, The Incredible Hulk, Kung Fu Panda, The Mummy III, and Wanted

Advertising:  more AMC ad posters, about 5 in total, and a movie tickets.com poster.

Japanese:  Jellyfish (B2), Next (B2), and Shoot 'em Up (B1)

May 26, 2008 (8:04 p.m.)  Damned near back to back updates!  I had some extra time with the Memorial Day holiday, so I was able to shoot pictures of some really excellent posters I received recently.

Here's a most excellent Japanese subway poster for Kill Bill 1, measuring about 14" x 40"  It's the only one I've ever seen. On of the neat things about it is that only the women are pictured.

This is the Japanese B1 for Pan's Labyrinth.  I find both the movie and this poster to be spectacular.

How's this for awesome!  This is the Japanese B1 for Pirates 3 and it is one of a set of five (yes count 'em -- five) character B1's for Pirates 3.  The other four are in the New Arrivals (and Japanese) sections.

Boy, it just doesn't end!  Here's a ridiculously rare Japanese B1 for The Fifth Element.  I've had the B2 for some time, and I did not even know a B1 existed until I found this one.

I don't usually collect video release posters, but I could not pass up this Japanese B2 for Death Proof's DVD release in Japan.

I am truly shocked that I waited as long as I did before finally seeing this awesome movie.  I've known of the poster for some time, but it's rare and usually expensive and I did not have interest in buying it until I saw the movie.  I was very lucky to find an inexpensive double sided copy.

This is a great ad poster for a screening of First Blood earlier this month.

Lastly, I have Mister Lonely in a B2 already, and I like the way this poster is done so much so that I bought the onesheet too.

These are most of the posters in the update.  The rest of it consists of the other four Japanese B1's for the Pirates 3 character set, a DVD release Japanese B2 for Amelie, an extra set of B1's for The Golden Compass, and a onesheet for Snow Angels.

June 2, 2008 (11:10 p.m.)  Here's a quick update with just five new posters.  Things have been slow lately!  Because it's just five, I'm listing them all here and not in the New Arrivals section.  You can find the full-sized picture by looking for the poster in the appropriate section of the site.

Let's start with the nicest first.  This is an alternate style for Labyrinth that recently came up in an "archive" find and posted to starwarshop.com or one of those sites.  It's rolled and in fabulous condition.  I know some people have been having problems ordering from these sites and, so far, I have had good luck with the condition.  I'm pleased to add this one, and you can find it in the US and International section.

In the Star Wars section I've added this ds onesheet for Clone Wars.  It's a pretty cool poster.  I bought this one also from starwarshop.com.

In both the Advertising and Television sections I have added this one for the new series The Andromeda Strain.  The previews of it on tv look pretty cool.  This poster is a full 27x40 and is made of film-like mylar for display in movie theaters.  This particular one came from an AMC theater.  The poster is so shiny that you can see in the reflection my bookshelves if you look carefully.  I couldn't do any better with the picture.

Also in the Advertising section is this version of the fairly famous THX poster.  This version was on starwarshop.com along with the one that's seen more often.  This is the third of this particular style.

Last but not least is this Advertising poster for an AMC ticket special.  Like The Andromeda Strain poster, this one is done in film-like mylar.  It's pretty cool.

That's it!  New stuff will be along soon!

June 30, 2008 (9:25 a.m.):  Work has been (gratefully) busy and once again I've let a lot of stuff back up even though I vowed not to do that.  It's a real pain processing so many pics.  But, as I have said many times, it's a labor of love.  I have stopped copying my comments into the descriptions of the posters in the New Arrivals section.  It's too much work to cut and past all the comments from the final sections of each poster.  If anyone's interested in those comments, you'll find them by simply looking up the poster in the appropriate section of the site.  Now, I list only the statistical info for each.

With that, here's the superstar of this update:  The uber-rare Japanese B1 for Sin City.  The entire surface of the poster is printed with a prismatic effect that is only hinted at the pictures I have here.  It is simply one of the finest posters that I have ever seen printed for the modern Japanese Market.  If you've seen the lettering on a poster like Austin Powers: Goldmember, or on the Japanese B1 letterin for Hairspray, of if you've seen those prism-like stickers that kids sometimes have, then you know what this poster looks like.  Easily, this poster now ranks as one of the top five rarest in my collection.  Here it is:

I originally bought the B1 for Appleseed without seeing the movie, knowing how rare that poster is.  About  6 months ago, I finally saw it and was blown away with how good it is. For as good as Appleseed is, Ex Machina is even better.  Pictured here is the B2 for Appleseed that I bought along with the B2 or Ex Machina.  I have yet to see a B1 for Ex Machina.  They are both superb posters.

Marie Antoinette was apparently well-anticipated because there are no less than three different versions of the art.  One I've had for awhile, and here's another B1.  The third was damaged during shipping, unfortunately.

Two completely different stories, but one good pose.  Candy, of course, is also notable because of the drug theme which also affected Ledger in life and death.

Simply one of the best movies I've ever seen, and the only one that I bought the Chirashi, B2 and (this) B1 for even though they are all the same art.

Two distinct but great romances, both B2's.

The onesheet for The Last Mistress

I was really pleased to find this B1.  I also found at the same time the B1's for the advance and final art.

Another wicked video release B2 for Death Proof.

What an awesome movie Equilibrium is.  This B2 is very rare, and is done in a metallic finish that does not photograph well.

I can't get enough of the Japanese Resident Evil material, and worse, I keep trading it to Thierry who seems to be on a quest to amass it all.  No doubt he'll be twisting my arm for this one too.

Last here, but among my favorites, are new AMC advertising onesheets including the one pictured below, and a great new THX onesheet.

And the rest:

Japanese:  Balls of Fury, Elizabeth The Golden Age, The Good Shepherd, Goodbye Bafana, Jumper, Michael Clayton, Revolver, Star Wars Episode 3, Things We Lost in the Fire, and Untraceable.

US/Int'l onesheets:  Amateur, Mighty Aphrodite, Priceless, True Romance, and
